Imposter Online ("the App", "we", "us") is a multiplayer party game developed by Aakash Goradia. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
A unique anonymous User ID generated automatically by Firebase Authentication — no name, email, or phone number required.
A username you choose (3–16 characters).
An emoji avatar you select.
A randomly generated friend code.
Gameplay Data
Words submitted and votes cast during gameplay.
Game settings and preferences (timer, number of imposters, categories).
Game session data (game codes, player lists, game results).
Social Features Data
Friend lists (stored as user ID references).
Friend requests sent and received.
Game invitations sent and received.
In-game chat messages and direct messages between friends.
Technical Data
Online/offline status and last seen timestamp.
Device identifier used by Firebase for authentication and connection management.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Real names, email addresses, or phone numbers
Location data or physical addresses
Photos, videos, or audio recordings
Contacts or address book data
Health, fitness, or biometric data
Financial or payment information
Browsing history or data from other apps
Advertising identifiers
3. How We Use Your Information
All collected data is used solely for App functionality:
Authentication: To create and maintain your anonymous account.
Gameplay: To facilitate real-time multiplayer games (role assignment, word submission, voting, results).
Social Features: To enable friend lists, friend requests, game invitations, and direct messaging.
Online Status: To show friends whether you are currently active.
Content Moderation: Usernames and chat messages are filtered for profanity before being stored.
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication) on Google Cloud infrastructure, with encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
We retain your data only for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed:
Your user profile (username, avatar, friend code)
Your friend list and friend requests
Your game invitations and DM notifications
Your username and friend code reservations
Your Firebase Authentication account
Game session data (messages, votes, submitted words) from completed games is part of a shared game record and is not individually deleted upon account deletion.
5. Children's Privacy
Imposter Online does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App uses anonymous authentication and requires no real personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us.
We do not integrate any advertising networks, analytics platforms, social media SDKs, or other third-party services.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Delete Your Account: Permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the App.
Change Your Username: Update your username at any time from Settings.
Remove Friends: Remove any friend from your list at any time.
Sign Out: Sign out of your account at any time from Settings.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
